Frankenstein

This is a collection of different elements I added to a larger pool of work intended to illustrate the well known story of Dr. Frankenstein. As part of a group of illustrators I was in charge of creating a logo for the story, and an initial idea for Dr. Frankenstein as well as the environment of the scene in which he retrieves the body parts for his creation.

Finished painting with background.

 Finished sketch for the painting.

Logo for the story.

Photo retouching

These are the two main projects I had to cover in my Photo retouching class. The bottom one is simply a compilation of images arranged in a fantastical and yet believable form. The one on top was to serve as a promotional image for my website and my work. I have been able to observe the usefulness of coffee for some people over the past few months. It gets them through their work.

"Where Will You Go"

If you let yourself dream?? This was a challenging but very fun painting. It was an opportunity to just draw what came to mind and fully realize it. It took many hours and a lot of different brushes. It was also a lot of experimenting with brush settings.

MTA Car Card

This is my design for a possible car card for the MTA. I really like the Bronx Zoo so I wanted to illustrate the relationship between this landmark and the subway system in a playful way. Done in Illustrator with gradient meshes and regular gradients.

Finished poster.

This is a detail of one of my favorite parts on the poster.

 Another one of my favorites.

Small Sketchbook

This is the first sketch on my small sketchbook I am currently drawing on. I will post an entire collection of them once I fill up this one. I have been drawing more on the trains and pretty much anywhere I can have the opportunity to do so. Many more to come!

Fear

This is a poster for a character design exercise I completed recently. It is based on the Myth of Pandora. It was interesting to find out that it was a jar and not a box as it is commonly believed. As all the calamities escaped the jar in the story I decided to illustrate FEAR since It was one of the most interesting ones.

This is a close-up of the text on the poster.
I wanted to show it a bit bigger to make the text easier to read.

SI Sketch Night "Red Wig"

SI Sketch Night "Red is Great"

This was a great night. Many good poses and also good costumes.

SI Sketch Night "Morphing"

Different outfits in one night!

SI "Pulp & Femme Fatal" with Bill Donovan

This night was special at SI since Bill Donovan got to lead everyone in new directions. The models were great as well as their costumes. Here are some of the drawings I did that night.
This was my favorite drawing of the night.

Bronx Zoo Sketches

I was happy to be a part of the summer program the Society of Illustrators offered during the month of July to many young artists as it gave me the opportunity to learn from them and experience the Bronx zoo! My best experience was coming into the zoo hoping to get a 10 min pose from an animal. Then I saw a young boy taking his sketchbook out without a second thought and draw a moving otter. This made me realize I needed to change my approach. It think this is the best way to approach an experience like drawing at the zoo. No over thinking!!!!
