LasT post of the year!!!
This is a painting I worked on to get used to using more textures. The concept for it came from an idea of finding animals who could be the most adept at human activities.

Figure Drawing
A small selection of quick and long poses ranging from 5 to 20 minutes long. I like to keep the quick ones in newspaper pads and the longer poses in brown paper since it gives me the chance to work on shadows and highlights.

CARNIVAL
This is an illustration I did about a story I have been wanting to develop in many different aspects. From writing the entire story to developing characters and animating it. Abigail is the main character of the story who after losing her family to the zombie outbreak she is faced with the decision of using the knowledge and abilities her family has left with her to either help rebuild a new world or wipe out humans entirely. Before her father, the ring master, her mother, the magician, and her brother, the strong man, lost their humanity, they decided not to leave Abigail alone and infused her favorite stuffed animal with the remains of their fading humanity. The animated version of this illustration IS COMING SOON!!!!

Portrait of Abraham Lincoln
This is a digital illustration of Abraham Lincoln. I wanted to illustrate what I remember the most about what he did as a President, which was to want to preserve the union between North and South. I used one of the most recognized parts of one of his speeches to emphasize my idea of him. Digital painting done in photoshop.
Detail of the metal plaque on the frame.

Figure Drawing
20 minute drawing with micron markers and tombow. The paper was terrible and didn't allow the Tombow makers to do its magic but it was a good lesson to learn and to see what the possibilities were with that sketchbook.

And Light it UP
FIRST POST OF THIS YEAR!! Oil on MDF board painting of my friend Kim Vega. She was kind enough along with other good friends to help me do some light painting so I could get reference for this traditional painting.
