The Shadow

This went from a single scanning session to a full blown project. I just wanted to get some practice with Photoshop Illustrator and Indesign. I came up with the title of this illustrated novel sort of as a joke since the cover that inspired me to do this had a similar title.

This was the original drawing I used

for the cover. This was 18x24 using charcoal
on charcoal paper. It was a 3 hour pose.

Tent Card Design

This is an exercise with InDesign. I am glad I am using this program again. Knowing Illustrator makes learning InDesign a lot easier!

Stamp Design

My stamp design done in Illustrator. I used a lot of brushes and gradients for the Jaguar's face. There is nothing like illustrator!

Self Portrait!!!??

This is a a self portrait as an Extraterrestrial being!! This was fun to work on and good practice with Photoshop since I had to use a couple of techniques that I was already forgetting!

Digital Painting Exercise

This was my final painting.

This was my first attempt at Digital Painting. I used this illustration by Enoch Bolles and I tried to copy it to the best of my ability. I am not a big fan of Santa and I strongly dislike smoking of any kind but this looked like and interesting illustration so I decided copy it. The top image is my version of the original illustration which is at the bottom. I used Photoshop CS4.

Ellen Ripley

This is an abstract portrait of Ellen Ripley as she becomes a Xenomorph. The idea behind my concept was the importance of Sigourney Weaver to the Alien franchise. I feel that she is synonymous to the iconic Xenomorph. I also wanted to upload an image of my final sketch and finished piece to compare them and see the transition between the two. Battle at Times Square!

This is an Illustration depicting the adventures of Alice, the Mad Hatter and the March Hare as they try to save the White rabbit from the Red Queen. As they leave their statue forms in Central Park they come to life with new powers they will need to fight the evil experiments created by the Red Queen such as the M²!! Watercolor and Photoshop.

Female Pirate (Finished)

This is the final version of this watercolor exercise. I really liked the texture of the paint and the paper. I feel like I learned a lot about using a limited amount of colors to create a cohesive illustration. I used Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna on Strathmore 400 cold press paper.

Vulture

This was a color exercise in which I needed to match a photography as much as possible. This image is my painting. Although painting has been such a difficult skill for me to learn; I feel that this exercise really helped me understand it a bit better.
