"Going Home"

My final animation project!!

Digital painting...

As I started to run out time towards the end of this final semester I realized that I would have to combine projects so I could get them all done. I decided to create a story for my digital painting class made up of 4 different boards that I would later on animate in After Effects. These are the 4 original boards that make up my story. (I used my little character from book illustration for this project too....ha.)

 This is the intro.

 First scene (monsters are introduced)

This is the last scene (MEGA monsters come out and attack!!!!!!)

A small detail of the final scene ( RUN FOR IT!!!!!!!!!)

This is the middle of the story (deep DEEP PROBLEMS)

Book Illustration II

This was one of the most challenging classes I have taken but it was a very rewarding experience. I enjoyed being able to write and illustrate my own story.  On top of that working on 4 finished digital paintings was a great learning opportunity to strengthen my digital painting skills. My story was called "Getting to Know my Dream" I will find a way to post the entire story with all the text added to it. For now I will upload the finished illustrations.

First painting, he can see his dream!!!!

Second painting, he finally gets to meet his dream!!!!

 Third painting, never give up!!!!

Fourth painting, my favorite one!!!!

Owl print

This is another print done with easycut and water based ink. Even though I created some of the shapes in illustrator the roughness of the carved out parts still give it a hand made look.

"We're Alive" pulp cover FINISHED

I was finally able to finish this painting. It has been a great learning experience since I struggled a lot with the mediums and some of the texture of the paint. I have to thank again my good friend Ashley for helping me with the reference I needed for this painting. This is my version of Riley from the Zombie Podcast story "We're Alive." Check it out if you haven't done so yet!! Click here.

 Finished painting with title.

 Just the painting!

Contests

This is a caricature I did for a contest of Danny Trejo. This is a traditional illustration with a touch of photoshop. The lighter flame needed some help and I really wanted to emphasize it a bit more.

This other illustration is about one of the fitness activities that my school offers and one of my favorite sports. It is a shame that the metallic texture of the ink does not show up but I still like it.

We're alive pulp cover!!!! (WIP)

This is an illustration with the idea of working as a pulp magazine cover. I had the idea of doing it inspired by the amazing work of the cast and crew that have created the Zombie Podcast- We're alive a story of survival. I picked Riley as the one character I wanted to illustrate. I also focused a little bit on the part where she faces a behemoth in the arena. This is just my version of how I see Riley in my head whenever I listen to the podcast. My good friend and great model Ashely helped me with the reference. This will eventually be an oil painting.
